Why Project Uplift
Every girl deserves the confidence that comes from feeling comfortable, supported, and empowered. Yet for many young women, something as essential as a properly fitting bra can become a barrier to participating in sports, succeeding in school, and feeling confident every day.
By age 14, girls drop out of sports at six times the rate of boys. Nearly half cite low body confidence as a reason for leaving sports, and more than 70% experience breast-related concerns during physical activity.
For many families, the cost of properly fitted bra can stand in the way of getting a fitting. Project Uplift helps remove these barriers by providing eligible girls with professional bra fittings, supportive bras, and education that empowers them to participate in sports, school, and everyday life with confidence.
What's Included
Each Project Uplift appointment includes:
• Private professional bra fitting

Eligibility
Project Uplift is a community initiative of The Bra Shop, in partnership with United Way of Central Massachusetts, serving girls in grades 5–12 who have been referred by a participating school or community organization and whose access to properly fitted bras may be limited by cost.
Students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during their Project Uplift fitting. If a parent or guardian is unable to attend, a nonprofit representative may serve as a chaperone, provided the nonprofit has the capacity to do so and has received written permission from the student’s parent or legal guardian.
Refer a Student
Approved schools, youth organizations, and community agencies are invited to refer eligible students to Project Uplift. Organizations are approved by United Way of Central MA.
Approved representatives must complete a short referral form to tell us about the student. Once the referral is submitted, the student or parent will be responsible for scheduling a Project Uplift Appointment through BookaBraFitting.com.
